NWOW for the insurance company AMMA

The challenge

Insurance company Amma was confronted with a work environment that had become misaligned with its actual use, its ambitions, and the evolution of working methods. The spaces no longer effectively supported collaboration, concentration, or the level of flexibility expected by the teams.

Before making any real estate decision, it was essential to objectify the situation: to gain a detailed understanding of usage patterns, measure the actual occupancy of the work spaces, and define a clear framework for a future environment aligned with a new way of working (NWOW). The challenge was twofold: to take a structuring strategic decision (stay or relocate) and to ensure employee buy-in for a work model based on activity based working.

Our approach

We conducted a comprehensive workplace strategy study, combining activity analysis, space occupancy measurement, and in-depth interviews with teams to understand their needs, collaboration modes, and operational constraints.

This fact-based approach highlighted the structural limitations of the existing environment and the gap between the space and its actual use.

On this basis, we provided decisive expertise in the building selection process. It was not merely about choosing an available site, but about assessing buildings against specific criteria: their ability to support activity based working, the potential flexibility of the work floors, the clarity of circulation, the potential for future evolution, and their alignment with work rhythms and team dynamics. Our role was to translate business and organisational needs into concrete real estate requirements, securing a coherent, sustainable choice aligned with the organisation’s strategy.

Our support continued throughout the move, with particular attention to change management. User training sessions prepared teams for their new environment and for the practical adoption of activity based working principles.

The result

The study clearly demonstrated the need to relocate and secured a major strategic decision for the organisation. The new building, selected based on expert analysis of usage and work constraints, now fully supports the implemented new way of working.

Employees benefit from a flexible, legible, and activity-based work environment tailored to their daily tasks. Thanks to the change support and training, the appropriation of the spaces was rapid, consistent, and sustainable.
