The challenge
In the context of a relocation and the evolving work practices and processes, IRISnet sought to clarify and adapt the use of its workspaces. The needs were multiple: better support individual work, facilitate exchanges between functions, and ensure a structured work framework aligned with operational requirements. Certain activities involving sensitive information also required particular attention in the organisation of spaces and circulation, without adding unnecessary complexity to the overall functioning. The objective was to establish a structuring work framework capable of evolving over time and clearly understood by all employees.
Our approach
brainmove initiated an in-depth reflection on actual usage, starting from the activities carried out by teams rather than from the existing spaces. Through targeted analyses, observations, and discussions with users, we identified the different work contexts, key interactions, and situations requiring specific conditions.
This detailed understanding enabled the definition of a clear spatial organisation, structured around simple principles: legible circulation, coherence between activities and spaces, and explicit rules of use. This reflection was translated into a concrete work concept, integrated into the spatial design and supported by a change management approach aimed at aligning behaviours and usage with the proposed framework.
The result
IRISnet now benefits from a structured and coherent work environment directly aligned with its professional practices. The spaces effectively support the diversity of activities, circulation is intuitive and designed consistently with the management of sensitive data. A clear distinction has also been established between areas dedicated to employees and spaces accessible to visitors, enabling the public to be welcomed in a controlled professional setting without interfering with internal operations.
Teams quickly found their bearings in this new environment, which combines operational efficiency, organisational clarity, and working conditions tailored to the specific demands of the profession.
