The challenge
KONE wanted to further establish itself as a high-tech and sustainable player in the Belgian market. The organization had an outdated building and wanted to move to a new, forward-looking building with a modern look. At the same time, KONE aimed to provide its employees with a warm and attractive work environment. The new headquarters had to align with the organization’s values and vision, while also integrating hybrid work into the company culture. The new office needed to cater to the increased demand for project environments and meeting infrastructure.
Our approach
Since KONE was also reviewing its business processes during this period, we developed a tailored approach for determining the needs that could be integrated into this shift. Through a vision exercise, we challenged the management team to rethink how to collaborate in the office environment. The vision was presented and discussed during a strategic session with the entire middle management. brainmove facilitated the session with several breakout groups and created an engaging vision document to effectively communicate the project’s objectives to employees.
Using a profile analysis combined with co-creative workshops, we mapped the teams’ needs. We analyzed the future activities in the office environment and translated them into a clear workspace mix. All collected information was compiled into a concrete, clear specification document used to brief an interior architect.
The result
Through brainmove’s study, KONE was able to develop a new and forward-thinking workspace concept. This concept was translated into a work environment focused on collaboration, creativity, and flexibility in cooperation with a creative interior architect. KONE now has a high-tech, flexible, and attractive headquarters in the state-of-the-art Quatuor building.
